Each year, Microsoft Convergence provides a great opportunity for everyone in the Microsoft Dynamics space to hear about best practices, real-life implementations and future developments. With the 2015 conference just around the corner, what can we expect from this year’s exhibition?
1. The Release of AX7
With the newest release expected in the first quarter of 2016, everyone including Microsoft, its partners and customers (and surely its competitors too!) will be talking about the impact AX7 is likely to have. Convergence has seven separate sessions dedicated to the launch and how you can get the most out of the enhanced functionality it will bring.
2. The Growth of the Cloud
Microsoft has invested heavily in its Azure cloud offering as well as starting to provide its Dynamics business applications online. Dynamics CRM Online is already out but this time the real game changer will be its AX solution joining the cloud party. The large capital outlays usually associated with ERP projects should no longer be a barrier to organisations pressing ahead with the strategic IT & business projects. Sessions at Convergence will cover the whys and the hows of migrating your data to the cloud.
3. Developments in Retail
With more than 2,200 retailers powered by Dynamics globally, Microsoft are undoubtedly committed to their retail offering which covers all the bases: point of sale, supply chain management, finance and marketing. At Convergence there will be several retail customers on hand to share their experiences like Pandora, Swarovski, Mont Blanc and Coviran as well as numerous dedicated sessions.
4. New CRM functionality
With the new release expected next year, Dynamics CRM should be a core focus of the conference. There will be 18 individual sessions covering recent and impending CRM updates including consumer engagement, gamification, online and mobile.
5. Unparalleled networking
With over 4000 Microsoft professionals attending, it’s unquestionably the best opportunity in the European calendar to meet others in the Microsoft Dynamics industry. With events by day and night, along with most of the delegates staying in 10 prescribed hotels, there could not be a better place to connect with other organisations who are either considering or undergoing similar projects.
Cognitive Group will be attending Convergence – so if you would like to book in a meeting to discuss your upcoming projects and the likely recruitment needs, please get in touch. If you are unable to visit the conference, be sure to check the Convergence website as they do usually have a video library available afterwards.
